María José Espinoza

Chilean artist, Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialization in painting from the University of Concepción 2004, University Prize 2005. Diploma in Art Therapy UC Temuco 2016.

Her vocation was born in Talca, her hometown, where she grew up immersed in the craft of a family of self-taught painters, continuing her training under the wing of the House of Art in that city.

After a solid fifteen-year period dedicated to the study and teaching of mosaics and ceramics, in 2021, following significant events such as the social unrest and the pandemic, she decided to return to painting as the central focus of her artistic production, taking her practice towards a synthesis expressed through the fusion of classical and contemporary painting.

Under the concept "Portraits of Nature", he develops a body of work that seeks to highlight the vital interdependence between species and ecosystems, making visible the urgent vulnerability of natural heritage.

His work has been featured in collective exhibitions in prominent national venues such as El Palacio Vergara in Viña del Mar, the Las Condes Cultural Center, ArtStgo at the GAM, ArtWeek at Estación Mapocho, Galería Eduardo Lira, Galería en Tránsito and Colina Galería, among others.
